Email Header – 100+ Explosive Email Headers
Hello, Igor Zuevich here. This article contains over 500 email subject lines that DigitalMarketer used in its . You will also find hundreds of email headers in this article.
Statistics
As you can see in the graph, the performance curve of email campaigns has increased significantly over the past year.
Last year, 181,177,569 emails were sent, which is 68% more than the year before.
There are several reasons for this:
1. The system has improved. As a result, we managed to regain 100 thousand email subscribers who were lost due to the ineffectiveness of the technical system of previous years.
Watch the video: Common Instagram Mistakes
2. More targeted emails were sent in 2017. DM employees specifically identified segments of profitable customers and compiled the text of letters and messages for them. This allowed us to increase the total number of emails sent - and the profit from email campaigns - without radical changes to the overall system.
Best email open rate
Not only has the total number of emails sent increased over the past 5 years, but so has the overall percentage of emails opened.
This was achieved mainly through attention to “email hygiene.”
DigitalMarketer is constantly experimenting, looking for new ways to increase email open rates, and paying attention to re-engaging subscribers.
Those who are no longer interested in the mailing list are removed from the email lists.
Compare the open rate for these two topics:
- “Good news for those who like bad news...” (2013) – 9%
- “I Have Good News and Bad News” (2017) – 15.7%
This is not the same thing, but still the two topics have something in common. Both topics ranked in the top 10 in their respective years. But in 2017, the open rate was 64% higher.
A clean client list for email marketing is the key to success.
Subjects of letters over the years
This is a more complex schedule, let’s devote a little more time to it.
The graph shows in which years and which messages the audience responded more often; The chart contains 8 main types of email subject lines.
After 2013, there was a noticeable improvement in the performance of curiosity-focused topics. At the same time, the overall effectiveness of topics that communicated something urgent decreased.
It is quite natural that in a crowded inbox an interesting topic stands out from the general background.
According to statistics, in 2015, 205 billion emails were sent daily. In 2017, this number increased by 31% – to 269 billion emails per day.
Therefore, it is worth using themes that make the user think or be surprised - this is a good way to stand out from the competition.
On the other hand, topics that can create a sense of urgency are another powerful tool. But it is better to use it in moderation, since the effect decreases the more often a particular remedy is used. And while it's a good sales driver, it's not as effective in terms of email open rates.
And instead of sending emails to everyone, DigitalMarketer sends time-sensitive offers only to a small segment of the audience that has an interest in a specific product.
Since some themes will always be more successful than others (curiosity, self-interest), it is still worth describing each type of theme separately.
Also, DigitalMarketer did not actively use social proof as a topic.
And before moving on to describing the best themes, let’s consider their general features.
There are 8 distinctive features of popular email subject lines.
1. Selfishness
It always makes sense to bet on the consumer's ego. As a rule, such topics communicate the benefits that a person will derive for himself if he opens the letter. The subject contains a hint about what the text of the letter is about.
2. Curiosity
While the previous version of the theme communicates benefits for the user, themes that arouse curiosity work on a completely different principle.
They pique the subscriber's interest without providing too much information, hence a higher open rate.
But be careful, as such topics quickly become outdated and often miss the mark.
3. Offer
Do you love free stuff? Do you like to shop?
The same goes for people on your email list.
If you're hosting a giveaway or selling something, your subscribers will be interested. By explicitly stating this in the subject line, you convince users to open the email and find out more.
4. Urgency/Scarcity
The most common type of theme at your disposal. Subject lines that announce that a sale will end soon force the user to act immediately.
However, it is better to use such topics selectively, and, of course, if we are really talking about something urgent or in limited quantities.
5. Politeness/sincerity
It doesn’t hurt to once again remind your subscribers about the creators of your product. Sometimes it’s appropriate to thank your subscribers, tell a story, or show the human side of your company.
6. News
If you constantly inform your target audience about industry news, this will increase your authority and, as a result, the percentage of open letters. If there is also an element of curiosity in the topic, the effect will be cumulative.
7. Social proof
Imitation is perhaps the main distinguishing feature of the species Homo sapiens. We often rely on the opinions of others when we need to make a decision.
Use this when choosing a subject line, mention other people's success stories, famous names, or find out how many customers are already using the product or service.
8. History
A story, or at least an intriguing beginning, is a unique way to highlight the benefits of a product and increase open rates.
Let's start with the 10 best themes...
10. We promise it's worth it...
Content: Plan to launch a fresh sale (podcast)
Opening percentage: 15.41%
Analysis: The subject line of the letter says nothing about the essence of the offer, but only: “Trust me - click here.”
The success of this theme is due to the relationship between the sender of the letter and the subscriber.
This subject line can only be used if there is already a certain level of trust.
9. 4 most important questions for every company
Content: Free video training
Opening percentage: 15.64%
Analysis: Specific, strange numbers in the subject line of the letter immediately catch your eye. In this case, this trick is complemented by another nuance - questions that all owners of commercial organizations think about. The theme was designed for a wide international audience, which also helped increase the open rate of emails.
8. We have good and bad news...
Content: Conference Intensive Workshop
Opening percentage: 15.73%
Analysis: Another option designed to appeal to curiosity. The topic is spoken in a conversational manner. The well-known expression is played on: it is based on the tendency of people to see the negative side in everything; In addition, users are interested in knowing why the news was called “bad.” All of this creates reasons to click.
Content: Blog post
Opening percentage: 16.25%
Analysis: Unique forms of content are a good way to stand out from the crowd. There are many other ways, incl. survey and checklist.
6.? Let's improve your offer together
Content: Intensive Workshop (ideal offer)
Opening percentage: 16.66%
Analysis: Promise of practical help; Behind such an email you can hear the voice of the company. A good way to attract quality clients is through a theme. Improving the offer may be in the interests of the audience.
5. Want to hire a content marketer? Use this guide...
Content: Blog post
Opening percentage: 17.09%
Analysis: Another effective theme that strengthens the sentence. A good example of how effective copywriting can be, even when there is very little text. Describes the problem (hiring) and the solution needed (leadership) in just 7 words.
Old Man Ham turned over in his grave and lit a cigarette.
4. Your private invitation is valid until tomorrow
Content: Intensive Workshop (PSS)
Opening percentage: 17.31%
Analysis: The subject line contains an appeal to a second person (“yours”) to generate interest, which, coupled with an element of urgency, constitutes an effective recipe for getting a click. Personal approach, exclusivity and urgency in one line.
3. Sales ⬆, Returns ⬇, Retention ⬆
Content: Blog post
Opening percentage: 17.47%
Analysis: The use of emoticons and symbols in the subject line always serves as an additional incentive to open the letter. Repeated elements are noticeable. Even without a hint of the subject of the letter, it immediately becomes clear that we are talking about something useful.
2. Google Display Network (your reference on one page)
Content: Blog post
Opening percentage: 18.77%
Analysis: A directory is openly offered, and indirectly - a simplification of a very complex and powerful traffic platform. A theme like this makes a difficult task seem doable, and the promise of more traffic is always an effective technique.
1. T&C 2017 Conference in Bora Bora?
Content: Live broadcast T&C
Opening percentage: 19.51%
Analysis: Classic DigitalMarketer theme. Combines an element of curiosity and personal gain + an unusual location andnatural repetition of words in the name of the island of Bora Bora.

A style that attracts attention = 50% success. You've probably already read about this. If your article, message or even letters in the news are uninteresting, boring address - the likelihood of it stopping for even a few seconds (I'm not talking about reading at the end) drops quickly (ie big fat ZERO).
That's why I thought: how to create a scam list so that every time I don't suffer from the title.
Choose what works. And I really liked the idea.
Who owns the titles? Great reporters! In the end, every magazine sells...
If the cover has interesting themes, it will be even more expensive. So I went to Lenin's library, took publications from popular magazines and prepared a list of the most interesting and interesting titles. Click here to download these 100+ titles as a pdf cheat sheet.
You can use them for articles on your website, social media posts, newsletters and even market sites... because you need a good attractive address everywhere so that your publication doesn't get released

How to make a headline that grabs attention
- Use lists or numbers.
Note. Most addresses contain numbers or a list. People are attracted to such things because they promise to tell you exactly what and how much they need to do to get results.
- Use strong words. For example, like the ones I added to the pdf, along with all these templates. Transfer, Print and Use
- Cut it off. Try to keep the address to a minimum.
Remove any words that do not add meaning.
- Don't be afraid of jaundice. I am often told that there are several names on the "prison" list. Don't be afraid of them. Unfortunately, this is when you write about a weight loss agent who helped Alli Borisovna lose weight in 1 day.
He deliberately deceives people. Everything else is a great opportunity to work. And they earn big books.

Summary of “Teacher Head” by Saltykov-Shchedrin
Volume One, George R.
Martina's WILD CARDS in a world that has been printed after a decade and expanded with new original material.
Max Reader 2017 Maxim Vasiliev. :: NNM-Club
Likewise, the mechanisms looked like 75 years ago and 55 years ago. We installed librarians, readers, technical staff. There were always technical problems - and librarians carried books by hand on the stairs.
Raspe Rudolf
The ancient past of Germany and the cultural heritage of past periods Raspe became interested in them first.
This was in the 65s of the 18th century. Century. In 6766 he created the first chivalric romance, Hermin and Gundlid, and sparked interest in writing as one of the oldest parts of world literature. Raspa carefully examined Macpherson's Osseano and drew Gerber's attention to the meeting of Bishop Percy.
He was the first to doubt the old "occupational songs", emphasizing the relevance and importance of such works for the development of European literature.
In the memoirs of a French nobleman, the studio of the artist Du Moustier was greeted by Cardinal Barberini and his entourage, who entered the cardinals and Pamphylia as relatives of the Borgia family.
A very valuable book in a luxurious headdress disappeared from the art table. The upset Du Moustier began to look for the guests, and the loss was discovered under the stick of Monsignor Pamphilio. The piquancy of this story is that in 6699 Cardinal Pamphilio became Pope Innocent X.
Count Libri, an Italian mathematician, transferred Italy to France for political intrigue.
Here he took the post of secretary of the Commission for the Search of Manuscripts in French Libraries. He actually looked for rare books, stole them and sold them abroad. Eventually, the true background of the chart's "work" was discovered and fled to London.
His contemporary, former monk of Tarragona, Don Vincent, also received a bibliography.
During hostilities, he saved the monastery's library, then escaped with it and opened a bookstore. They say he sold books, then bought clients and returned what he sold.
He also participated in book auctions, and in 6886, when he was a wealthy rival, Don Vincent killed him and shot him in his store. The former monk was arrested and executed.
Leninka is served by two conveyors passing through all levels, but they do not intersect anywhere. The second is a smaller conveyor belt. To avoid confusion, the RSL workers themselves call for a larger conveyor belt and a smaller one for the “little rose.”
100 legendary titles that brought millions to their creators
Why? Nobody knows, not even older people. The "Little Rose" is a mechanism consisting of 95 "pegs", with a road of 88 meters and a speed less than a large conveyor belt, only 5.69 m/s. The principle of operation of both carousels is the same, they differ in the direction of the route: each has its own list of readers where books are waiting.
For six years, Cardinal Domenico Passioni headed the Vatican Apostolic Library.
Before this, he was known for his special approach to library collections. For example, it is said that as papal nuncio to Lucerne he frequently visited local libraries. He arranged his visit in advance and asked that all other visitors be removed from the book.
When she was left alone, the nuncio threw the books into a box, where his companions picked them up.
However, for a very long time, if you pull on a straight line, all 675 "cradles" on the conveyor will be 795 meters long! The mechanism is constantly moving, and if there is no loading ("dumps" as they say here), it is idle. A huge rotating shaft with a diameter of two meters is a “cradle”, it sways a little, maneuver from room to room, so the upper limit is on the 9th floor, down - on the 7th...
The librarian takes a book from the shelf, enters the request and places it in the "cradle".
In XIX. For centuries, there has been a terrible story about the priest Johann Georg Tinnyus, who is distinguished by exemplary behavior. As it turned out, he robbed and killed people with an ax in order to have money to buy books.
In 6868 he was arrested, and it turned out that his library contained about 65,000 volumes!

The holidays are over and it's time to start winning new picks and making money. Therefore, he is looking for something that will help capture these very peaks.
Among the books presented there are not only specialist literature, but also a number of literary texts that make thoughts spin and the mind move.

What is the key to effective publishing?
Most will answer this question: “in quality content.” And that's true. But there is something no less significant, and sometimes even more important - this title.
The title of the article is the first thing the reader pays attention to. It conveys the theme, and often the very essence, of the author's message. But in addition to the content, the wording of the title of the publication also plays an important role. A headline that is based on the psychological aspects of the reader’s personality, his past experiences, desires and subconscious can be considered effective. Special words that increase audience engagement are very helpful here. The word “safe” may seem unremarkable, but for the audience it acts as a signal, attracting attention and reassuring. But headlines include words that have more than just a positive connotation. Negative words, such as “conspiracy,” can be much more effective. This will make the reader wary, but curiosity will take over and he will not be able to turn the page.

How to write a selling headline - 3 secret tricks
In fact, coming up with a selling headline is very simple. To do this, you need to know only 3 tricks and a few technical points, which we will talk about below.
3 features of a selling headline:
- Client's pain or desire
- The number is the result
- Strengthening words.
Now for each of these points in more detail.
The secret of selling headlines #1 - Pain or desire of the client
Have you ever wondered why you are reading this article now? Do you want to learn how to write catchy headlines? This is your wish!
I could title the article like this: “Why no one reads your texts and how to fix it”. And that would be a pain.
Do you understand the point? When writing headlines, it is always important for us to remember - we must hit the client’s pain and give him a solution to his problem, or we must hit his desire.
This the very first and most important secret writing a selling headline. Without this rule, no one will ever read your content. People will simply pass by and not pay attention to him.
Of course, for SEO promotion it is also necessary to tailor the title to search engines. Don't forget to take this into account when writing titles for your YouTube videos and articles on your website.
The secret of selling headlines #2 - Number - result
I'll give you a simple example so you can understand how it works. Here are 2 examples of headlines, choose which one is of more interest to you.

In addition, we know for sure that we will receive 3 secret chips. And this is already a value. That is, in addition to specifics, numbers increase the value of content.
And this figure should always lead to some result. In our example, this is writing selling headlines.
