“I have been into music for a long time. Back in 2010, I recorded singles on the ArtSound label owned by DJ Aristocrat. Nevertheless, real success came with the release of the single "Come with me", which was appreciated in the USA. I suppose this is due to the fact that the text turned out to be frank, provocative, and the "chips" with which the song is filled fell in love with the American public. And “Come with me” just “came” to Russia from America.
By the way, about the text. As far as we know, you write all the texts yourself. This is true?
- Yes it is. I am categorical on this issue. I believe that an artist who writes the lyrics on his own knows how to “feel” what he sings. This does not mean that the text is written specifically about me. In particular, there is one Russian single "Come back" in my arsenal. It describes a not-so-healthy relationship between a man and a woman, in which the man constantly turns his back on the woman who loves him. But this does not mean that the song is written about my personal life. There are many things that inspire me to write. So, for example, now I'm working on the single "Animal" - it's about female domestic violence. The track is aggressive, very emotional, and I am sure that, to my regret, it will find its audience. We do not live in a world of sunbeams and pink elephants. The problems of society also in some sense inspire to convey to this very society the importance and significance of such problems, albeit in a musical style.
- And what prompted you to write "Dancing in the Summer" - such a bright single, which was listened to by about 200,000 people in less than a day and the number is only increasing?
- Zhenya Romanov, my concert director, encouraged me. Listening once again to the material in the studio, he and Zhenya Voit, our sound engineer, reported “the most unpleasant news”: we need summer music in Russian. At first, I was wildly upset, because I mistakenly believed that I could hardly write something really worthwhile in my native Russian. Here, you see, I show them light singles with a Spanish motive in English, but they need Russian. In general, I was given the task: to write a summer hit. To implement it, I flew to Tunisia (a summer hit is best written by the sea), where I was inspired by the Latin American flavor, which, oddly enough, is wildly popular among Arabs with French manners. Returning to Moscow, I gave Zhenya Voit the finished text and melody. I sent dictaphone recordings to Zhenya Romanov throughout my stay in Tunisia. Deadlines were tight. We planned to release the single on June 1, which we actually did, and we started working on it on May 10. This is a catastrophically short time. Nevertheless, the result exceeded our expectations. I’ll tell you a secret, “Dancing in the Summer” was supposed to see the world at 06:00 Moscow time on June 1. At 05:00 we were still correcting the nuances of the sound and were late with the release by 6 hours.
- This is how hits are written, it turns out! And how did you and your team understand that this was a success? And was it predictable?
- I will not lie and dissemble, saying that we expected such a reaction from the public, and everything happened by itself. The VERO BRAND team is made up of people who are focused on results, selected by me with love. Before my flight to Tunisia, I, Zhenya Romanov and PR agent Alina Guseva gathered in the office, developed a promotion strategy, what we would do and in what order. You can not create a product and just "throw" it to the masses. You need to understand what to do next with this product. And for this understanding, a clear strategy is needed, where everyone understands what, why and when to do it.
— So, in other words, success is impossible without strategic planning?
— I would say that without a responsible approach and strategy, it is impossible to achieve the result that you want to see. You can not set a goal and go to it at random.
- Tell us more about your team. How did she appear?
— I am an independent artist and an adequate person. And an adequate person understands that it is difficult to reach a certain level alone. Therefore, I carefully selected the team. Please note that this is a command. Non-product service personnel, even though I am a direct employer. Team - because we act for the benefit of one project. Team - because we are focused on results. Team - because we treat each other with respect. Everyone has the right to express their opinion, we all consult with each other to achieve the highest quality. - Yes. I really love interesting details in images and I have a really big collection of original sunglasses. Changing them for every song is my idea. So you make the performance varied and do not bother the audience.
— You recently performed at KOREA FESTIVAL'17, where for the first time the audience heard a live performance of "Dancing in the Summer". Despite the rain and hail, you went out to the public. In addition, your spectacular number with colored smoke was almost the main spectacle of the festival. Tell me how it went?
— Oh, it was cold. To be honest, I was shocked because the rain and snow on June 3rd is nonsense. In addition, the stage was wet, and the girls from the dance support had to actively move. The stage was open, a strong wind was blowing, which naturally affected the sound quality. Yes, and the sound check went off with a bang, but before the performance itself there was a failure in the equipment, and it was necessary to focus only on oneself and one's intuition. This performance was a test of strength for us. Nevertheless, any artist must make sure that the viewer does not see the "behind the scenes" and the problems that could arise. Therefore, just go ahead with a smile on your face and spectacular colored smoke at the end of the song, in order to somehow color the gray sky over Sorochany.
- And why not sing "under the plywood" then? And no problems with sound. Do you always perform live?
- Undoubtedly. Another option is not even considered. I don't understand artists who record quality sounding songs but can't provide the same when performing. The meaning of you as a musician is lost.
- In addition to live sound, do you always try to make a show?
- Of course. Otherwise it won't be interesting. For example, would you like to continue watching a movie if it is boring at the very beginning? Would you buy a cinema ticket for a boring movie? Here is the same system: if people come to see you, they pay for it, then you have to surprise, set the mood, please, relax, shock, in the end. That is why, change of glasses, dance support, colored smoke and live sound.
— What can we expect from VERO in the near future?
- Oh, if I reveal all the cards, then you will no longer invite me for an interview. I can only say that we are moving forward in an enhanced mode. Literally in a week there will be a presentation of a new single in the style of Hip-Hop. And in a month another summer hit, at least our whole team believes in it. In addition, we have concluded numerous advertising contracts, and the poster is replenished with new performances. It remains only to work hard and believe in success.

On the train to the northern city of Noyabrsk, he meets a local hairdresser, Marina, falls head over heels in love, and risks failing his mission.
The role of Marina, after a year-long casting, went to 35-year-old Evgenia Brik. After filming in the north, Evgenia left for warm Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband, director and producer Valery Todorovsky, and seven-year-old daughter Zoya. According to the actress, she was sent a series of "Adaptations" in advance, and she and her husband have already watched them.
