V-belts are designed to transmit torque between rotating shafts of various mechanisms and machines. They are widely used in machine tool, automotive, agricultural and printing machinery, in special drives, etc. Drive belts of section V (B) are manufactured in accordance with State Standards 1284.1-89 and 1284.2-89 and, depending on the climatic design, can be used in areas with very cold, cold, temperate and tropical climates.
All types of V-belts, including those with a V(B) section profile, are used in power and kinematic transmissions at linear speeds up to 30 m/s. The transmitted power is determined by the number of belts simultaneously working in the drive. The procedure and methodology for calculating V-belts and V-belt drives are given in GOST 1284.3-96.
Belts with a wedge section of profile V (B) are made of technical rubber on a cord-cord basis. Twisted cord is more flexible than cord fabric, so it can be used in drives with small pulley diameters.
Technical specifications
In the design of V-belt drives, the width of the belt along the neutral section line (Wp) is involved in the calculations. The neutral line is understood as a section in which the rubber product does not experience compressive or tensile forces when bending around the driving or driven pulleys. The width on the larger (upper) base in the V-belt drawings is given for reference. Limit deviations from the nominal geometrical parameters in general mechanical engineering are not taken into account (only when designing special equipment or measuring pulleys).
The length of V-belts with section profile V(B) is regulated by GOST 1284.1-89, according to which RTIs are produced in lengths from 630 mm to 6300 mm. At the same time, GOST admits that, under a separate agreement with the manufacturer, it is possible to produce V-belts of non-standard length. To compensate for the error in the length of the belts, as well as to compensate for their stretching during prolonged operation under load, mechanisms and machines must be provided with special tensioners.

V-belt 1200 A(A)
It is intended for drives of machine tools, industrial installations and agricultural machines. The belt consists of a carrier layer based on chemical fiber materials (cord cord or cord fabric), a wrapping fabric layer and rubber layers vulcanized into one product. The carrier layer is located in the longitudinal direction of the belt. Fabric may be applied in the rubber layers.

Belts one section and one length complete in groups. A set is considered to be two or more belts intended for simultaneous operation in a multi-strand transmission. Belts of one set can be completed and packed in bundles with a certain number of multiplicity (by quantity).
- Broadcast V-belts carried out by one or more belts. Pulley groove profiles for industrial installations must be made in accordance with GOST 20898-80, for stationary agricultural machines - according to the regulatory and technical documentation adopted in agricultural engineering.
- Belts installed on the pulleys manually in a relaxed state, without the use of any tools.
- The transmission pulley shafts must be parallel and the pulley grooves opposite each other. The misalignment of the axes of the pulleys should not exceed 1 mm per 100 mm of length. The axial displacement of the pulley grooves is allowed no more than 2 mm per 1 m of center distance and increases by more than 0.2 mm for every 100 mm of center distance over 1 m.
- Pulley grooves must be kept clean and free of grease, solvents and other substances. They must not be painted over.
- Belt tension must be checked and adjusted periodically during operation, especially during the first 48 hours of operation.
- When transporting and storing machine tools, industrial plants and stationary agricultural machines, it is recommended to loosen the belt tension.
- If one belt fails, it is recommended to remove the entire set. New belts must not be used with used belts.
Belts used, are selected in separate sets.
