Since January 5, residents of the capital have already handed over more than 22,000 Christmas trees for processing; last year, half that number was collected during the same time. Pyotr Biryukov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, told reporters about this. According to Biryukov, last year only 12,000 trees were collected in the first two weeks of the action.

The operation of the pond and dams includes measures for the supervision and maintenance of the dam and spillways, their repair and measures for the improvement of the territory of the pond.

The main types of damage are overflow of water over the crest of the dam; filtration of water through the dam; destruction of the dam by a wave breaker; damage to spillways.

The overflow of water over the ridge is observed during very large floods or due to the unpreparedness of the spillway structures to skip the flood. To prevent water overflow, spillways must be cleared of snow, ice, and debris in the spring before the flood. In case of large floods, when the spillways do not have time to discharge water, to eliminate the overflow of water, it is necessary to arrange a temporary spillway channel with water discharge into the beam below the dam.

Cracks often form on new dams before the soil has completely settled due to freezing in the upper layers and continued settlement of the lower layers, leading to the formation of voids. When a transverse crack is formed in the dam, it is necessary to dig a trench 1.5-2.0 m deep, 0.5 m below the depth of the crack. With a longitudinal crack, a trench is dug along the crack for its entire length. The crack is filled with the same soil from which the dam is built, in layers of 1 5-20 cm with careful tamping.

Seepage of water through the dam can be observed when design or construction rules are violated. To eliminate filtration, it is necessary to increase the base of the dam by widening it from the side of the dry slope or arrange drainage. If the water filtering through the drainage device is clean, then this indicates a good condition of the dam.

The destruction of the dam by a wave breaker is eliminated by fixing the wet slope with a stone pavement, concrete slabs, or throwing stones over squares created from willow stakes.

Spillways should be constantly cleared of debris, and in the spring of snow and ice. The most common type of damage to spillways is the formation of dips along their walls due to water filtration. Dips behind the walls of culverts should be filled with soil in a timely manner.

In order to avoid erosion of dams, it is necessary to organize observation and concentrate the right materials and mechanisms.

The system of operational measures includes the improvement of the area around the pond, the restoration of disturbed sod cover, the creation of tree and shrub plantations (the range of species is selected depending on soil and climatic conditions). On the shores of the reservoir along the water's edge, especially in places where the shore is destroyed by a wave, it is advisable to plant shrub willows. When using a pond to extinguish fires, build access roads and platforms in places where water is taken

Periodically, it is necessary to clean the pond from grassy aquatic vegetation. Small ponds are cleared by hand, large ponds are cleaned using special mowers and dredgers. After 20-30 years, having completely freed the pond from water, it is cleaned of vegetation, debris and silt. Water is diverted through a culvert.

CHAPTER V

CALCULATION OF THE ECONOMIC COST OF THE PROJECT

5.1. Estimated construction costs

The cost estimate for the construction of a pond and a dam is compiled item by item according to the aggregated indicators, which are given in the table.
