In BDO, there is another type of craft - gardening. Where would you be without a garden? It brings resources and additional income, so there is no way to do without it. But gardening must be done correctly, a stupid approach will only take your time.

In order to start farming, you need to rent a fence (garden). In order to rent a fence, you will need influence points, which are removed for the duration of the fence lease and will be returned if you return the fence to the NPC. Fences come in different sizes, respectively, the number of planting crops is also different:
Light fence for 4 slots = 3 influence points;
Normal fence for 7 slots = 6 influence points;
Strong fence for 10 slots = 10 influence points.

How to set up a vegetable garden
In order to install a fence, you just need to right-click on the fence in your inventory. The vegetable garden cannot be placed in a safe zone and must be an area with grass. When you install the fence, the suitable installation area will be highlighted in blue, press the button to confirm. Vegetable gardens can overlap with another player's vegetable garden, but when you stand in your own vegetable garden, other players' vegetable gardens will disappear and you can easily harvest.

After you have placed your garden, information about it can be viewed in the upper left corner (fence icon). By clicking on the garden icon, you can see the following information: in what territory the garden is located, in what place, type of garden, send a worker to work for it and lay an autopath to it if you forgot where it was installed.

Please note that if your garden is empty for 7 days, it will be automatically moved to the warehouse. Each time you plant plants in the garden, the lease period for the garden is extended.

Each crop needs its own place of cultivation. Since each plant needs its own temperature and humidity. In order to get information about the crop, you need to place a seed in the garden (planting is not necessary) and you will have information about the plant. Below I will describe how to use this information. It is important to say that you can check groundwater, temperature and humidity on the map.
To do this, you need to go to the map mode (M), and in the upper right corner click the icons: groundwater, temperature and humidity.

How to get seeds
There are several different ways to get seeds:
During collection - seeds can be collected from bushes or thickets, collection by hand or with a sickle. Seeds drop randomly when harvested, so this option is very slow and consumes a lot of energy points, but this the only way get free seeds;
seed merchant - there are seed merchants, but they have a poor selection of seeds and don't sell seeds anymore High Quality but it's a good option if you're just starting out Agriculture. You can use the NPC search button in the top right corner, then type "seeds" to quickly find all seed merchants;
auction - a market where you can quickly find the seeds you need if you want to get high-quality crops right away.

Is it worth sending workers and caring for the garden
I would like to highlight two main reasons for gardening and what role they play in the care of your farm.
1. Maximum performance
If you just want to receive materials for profit or production. Then it is advisable to use fertilizer, water and workers so that they can work in the garden. This ensures that the growth time is short, but you won't get any Sharpened Black Crystal Chunks, Hard Black Crystal Chunks, or Harvest Experience. In order to send a worker to your garden, click on the garden icon in the upper left of the screen, select a worker in the desired garden.
2. Leveling a craft skill, getting sharpened pieces of black crystal, a piece of hard black crystal, other loot.
If you are looking for a profit from removing insects such as weeds, magic leaf, sharp black crystal pieces, hard black crystal piece, monk's branch, etc. Then don't use workers, but tend the garden yourself.

If your garden needs maintenance due to insects or pruning, the farm icon on your world map will turn red. Insects and pruning will double the time it takes to grow your crop if the plants are left untreated but will not affect the crop and you can actually leave it as is if you don't mind the extra time it takes.

You can use workers to remove bugs or trim, but you won't get any loot.

Possible loot from removal of insects: 1 - 10 weeds, larva, magic leaf, cochineal, pointed pieces of black crystal, piece of hard black crystal.

Possible Pruning Loot: 1 - 10 Weeds, Brushwood, Monk's Branch, Sharpened Black Crystal Chunks, Hard Black Crystal Chunk.

Haystack and chicken nest
In addition to seeds, you can plant a haystack (cow) or a chicken nest (chicken) in the garden.
A haystack occupies 4 slots, when a cow grows up, you can collect milk, beef and a skin from it. In order to make a stack, you need to dry 50 weeds.
The chicken nest takes up 3 slots in the garden, when the chicken grows up you can collect chicken and eggs. To create a chicken nest, you need to grind 20 coarse stone + 100 barley.

How to upgrade a craft
Every time you prune, collect bugs, cultivate or harvest, you will have a craft experience - harvest. The higher the level of the craft, the less energy you will spend while tending the garden. To level up your craft, complete craft quests, use , pets and of course a costume: farmer's clothes or special farmer's clothes (craftable, which can be enchanted by +5).

by-products
In addition, during gardening you will receive by-products:
diseased plants can be exchanged at Alejandro's Farm 5 pcs. = 3000 silver;
unusual fruits can be exchanged 5 pcs. in Heidel for fertilizer from waste;
unripe fruits can be exchanged 5 pcs. in the Supply Cave for Black Pepper Seeds;
bitten seeds can be exchanged 5 pcs. at the Costa Farm for collection experience points;
mutated plant can be exchanged 5 pcs. at the Elda Farm for influence points.

In Black Desert Online a lot of all sorts of consumables: HP and MP / FP cans, lunches, food for pumping health, and more. Banks and meals can be bought from NPCs, but they will cost you a lot of money. Of course, by killing mobs a lot and actively on spots, you can afford any costs, but this is not always profitable. In addition, if you decide to specialize in alchemy or cooking, the information that I will share in this guide will be useful for you to know.

Please note that crafting requires such an indicator as energy points:

Energy points are restored slowly, only one point every three minutes, however, by obtaining a bed and placing it in your house, you can speed up this process by half (if the bed is bought from an NPC or crafted) or three times (if the bed is bought in a shop).

Banks HP

To craft cans for HP, you need to collect certain cereals and mix them with water. potato in Black Desert, by the way, is also considered a cereal. I was able to craft cans for HP from the following resources:

Potatoes can be harvested in the field in the south of Velia:

Collecting one bush will cost one energy point. From one bush you will get from 0 to 3 potatoes.

In addition, when you get your first worker, it makes a lot of sense to immediately activate these nodes:

Bartali farm (potatoes) - south of Velia. Moretti Plantation (wheat) - southeast Heidel

Potatoes and wheat, in addition to cans of HP, are also needed in the production of beer. You can read about it.

They need 3 pieces (for one craft). In addition, we buy one unit of water for cooking from the NPC chef (for one craft):

After the window appears, select the "Cooking" function, then right-click on potatoes or wheat, and then on the water for cooking in the inventory. Press the "Make" button. If you did everything right, then from 10 to 12 juice from cereals will be created:

And also, with a certain chance, from 3 to 4 concentrated juice from cereals:

Crafting juice will cost one energy point. And also, using cereal juice, you can craft it into concentrated (in a ratio of 3 to 1) in the same order as described above (through the “Cooking” function).

Cereal juice is a complete analogue of a small HP potion (75), and concentrated cereal juice is a medium one (125).

But that's not all. Buy one unit of sugar from the Chef NPC (for one crafting):

Please don't confuse it with brown sugar which has a different price.

With one unit of sugar, you can craft concentrated cereal juice into highly concentrated cereal juice (at a ratio of 30 to 10) in the same order as described above (through the "Cooking" function):

Highly concentrated cereal juice - an analogue of a large potion for HP (200).

More importantly, juices are lighter in weight compared to potions.

Banks MP/FP

To craft jars on MP/FP, you need to collect a certain herb and mix it with water. I was able to craft cans for MP/FP from the following resources:

Weeds can be obtained by collecting almost any bushes (collecting the same potatoes in Velia), azalea and calendula - in the plains of Serendia and in the forests of Balenos, respectively.

In addition, you can and even need to activate these nodes:

Forest of Balenos (calendula) - south of Velia. Lynch farm ruins (azalea) - west of Heidel

Weeds need 10 pieces, and azaleas and marigolds - 3 each (for one craft). In addition, buy one unit of cooking water from the Chef NPC (for one crafting). Next, open the crafting menu ("L", by default). You will have a window like this:

After the window appears, first click on the image of the jar (“Alchemy” function), then right-click on the weed or calendula, and then on the cooking water in the inventory. Then click on the "Make" button. If you did everything right, then from 10 to 12 healing tinctures will be created:

And also, with a certain chance, from 3 to 4 concentrated healing tinctures:

Crafting a tincture will cost one energy point. By using a healing tincture in the same order as above (through the Alchemy function), you can craft it into a concentrated one (at a ratio of 3 to 1).

Also, you can craft a concentrated healing tincture into a highly concentrated one (in a ratio of 3 to 1) in the same order as described above (through the "Alchemy" function):

Healing tincture will restore 125 MP/FP (similar to a small MP/FP potion), concentrated - 175 (similar to a medium MP/FP potion), highly concentrated - 250 (similar to a large MP/FP potion).

Buying lunches

Meals are a consumable that will give you various buffs. It will not work to use them all together, because they have a rollback of 30 minutes. But I think it's not worth explaining how important it is to have a full buff for mass PvP. In order to buy lunches and various healthy dishes of the high level, find this NPC in Calpheon:

Maraya Peru will offer you an excellent choice:

From milk to experience bonus:

Before dinner:

Craft lunches

To craft dinners, you need to properly sit in the garden, as well as learn how to get ingredients such as venison (collection from level 25 deer):

Or honey (we shoot down wild hives with a gun) or open this node to the west of Heidel:

I don't want to go too deep into the nuances of finding each ingredient, because by this point you should already be well-versed in the intricacies of cooking, fishing and mining other resources. Lunches differ from other dishes in that they consist of separate dishes and are cooked in stages on the stove: first the component dishes, then the dinners themselves.

For your convenience, I have made a crafting table. All dinners, except for the knightly one, consist of five separate dishes:

Milk and eggs

Can be traded in Heidel and Northern Wheatfield for Fragrant Food, Cooking Byproduct, or Milking a Cow. The procedure is a mini-game in which it is necessary to press the mouse buttons in turn, having managed to fill the vessel in 30 seconds. In the process, the energy of the character is spent. Find dairy cows you can near Olivia and at Ranch Faars near Calpheon.

Eggs, like chicken meat, are harvested by workers on the nodes Pinto Plantation, Bartali Farm.

Flour

It is obtained by grinding cereals (potatoes, sweet potatoes, wheat, barley, corn). The crafting menu is activated by pressing the L button. The amount of flour obtained depends on the character's crafting skill level.

Cereals

Workers are mined on nodes:

Sweet Potato - Suri Farm;
Potato - Lodge Farm, Pinto Plantation, Bartali Farm;
Wheat - Moretti Big Plantation, Costa Farm, North Wheat Field,

Strawberries and grapes can be grown in the garden. In addition, grapes can be harvested in Olivia and Velia. Tulips and roses can be harvested from plants (you'll find entire fields near the Calpheon Capital) or grown. Sunflowers - only grow in the garden. The rest of the fruit, except grapes, is sold by the fruit merchant Milano Bellucci in the Calpheon Capital.

Mushrooms

Grow all over the map. Most mushrooms are in the forests of Calpheon, but they can also be found in the desert. Any type of mushroom, except for truffles, is grown in the garden (truffle spores are not available in the game). Some mushrooms can be bought from Brandio in the Calpheon Capital (in the same building as the storekeeper Basquin).

Honey

In the Balenos Forest, you can rent a training gun from NPC Daphne for influence points. Nearby in the forest on the trees there are nests of wild bees, knocking down which, you can pick up a hive of wild bees. Grinding 3 beehives will give you one or more servings of honey or good honey (green quality). Please note that it is not possible to bring down a hive with a matchlock gun used for hunting. In much larger volumes, honey can be mined by slaves at the Alejandro Farm.

Fish and seafood

They are caught with a bait in most water bodies (except for the smallest puddles). Seafood includes: turtle, shellfish, squid, crayfish, jellyfish, crab, starfish, octopus, seahorse. All other living creatures caught on a bait are fish. Dried fish, two portions of which in cooking can replace one raw fish, can be harvested by workers on the islands of Ruviano, Efde Run, Beiruwa, Fusara, Dellinhart, Orfs, Ruruba, Staren, Albresso, Varaterra, Randis, Serka, Vaeja, Modrik and Grenada.

These include the fruits of the sun, the ocean, charm, magic, storm, absolute, destruction, nature. Each of the fruits can be randomly obtained when collecting plants with a sickle, including in the garden.

Dust of fire - copper and titanium ore;
Ages - zinc and lead;
Darkness is iron
Destruction - coal,
Attractions - tin ore.

Most types of ores are mined at many nodes scattered throughout the map. Tin ore can only be mined at the Heads of the Bear River in Calpheon.

Powder of Death is dropped from the undead in the Hexa Cemetery and the Knight's Cemetery, it is impossible to get it in any other way. The shining powder needed to make alchemy stones is sometimes created as a by-product.

A few words about the beds

In Black Desert, the vegetable garden allows you to not only reduce the time it takes to find resources, but also grow green and blue quality ingredients. Cultivated in the garden:

Cereals;
Spices;
Vegetables;
Fruit;
Flowers;
Mushrooms;
Herbs.

Keep in mind that some types of ingredients cannot be obtained in any way other than growing in the garden. When weeding the beds, you can collect weeds, a branch of a monk, a magic leaf. In addition to plants, you can grow chickens and cows in the garden:

Chicken nest. Crafted by grinding 20 Rough Stones and 100 Barley. Allows you to get eggs and chicken meat. Occupies 3 slots.
A stack of hay. Crafted by drying 50 weeds. Allows you to get milk and beef. Occupies 4 slots.

Like cultivated crops, chicken nests and a haystack can be green blue quality - good and choice, respectively.
