Distribution of theater tickets. Telephone of mistrust. Moscow musical theater "Helikon-Opera"

* The calculations use average data for Russia

Selling tickets to concerts and theaters has always been a fairly profitable business, which was based on a markup on the already purchased ticket. Since Soviet times, speculators have been earning colossal amounts of money by simply reselling tickets bought at exorbitant prices from all the city's ticket offices. This led to the fact that the average person was forced to either buy a ticket at a price very far from the face value (and thus overpay a lot of money), or completely deny themselves the pleasure of attending the event. Moreover, with every day approaching the event, prices from resellers grew exponentially, and, of course, this situation was disadvantageous for absolutely no one. Except for the speculators themselves, who may not have sold even half of the tickets, but won on a huge markup from those already sold. It is not surprising that this had to come to an end sooner or later.

However, even today, before a premiere or a one-time event (as an option - a concert of a popular touring artist), you can find resellers at the entrance, who give the last chance to those who did not have time to buy even the simplest ticket. But, admittedly, their work is somewhat complicated by the introduction of modern ticket sales technologies, when a person can independently buy a ticket directly from home. Usually, today only those who come to their senses only when it was too late to buy a ticket, for example, on the eve of an event, become clients of resellers today. All this is due to the spread of the Internet among the population; it has greatly changed the principle of ticket trading, and nowadays an entrepreneur who seeks to build his business on resales must do this without barbaric methods and even resist speculators. Moreover, he himself must implement a ticket sales system not only at his box office, but also on his own website. The principle of operation of ticket offices has changed radically.

At the moment, the situation on the market is not the most favorable for new players. The niche for ticket sales is actually occupied; companies captured this market a few years ago and even established very productive work. Moreover, they are no strangers to improvement, and the relatively new idea of, for example, electronic tickets was well implemented, implemented and widespread. There are still a large number of people who are skeptical about this type of ticket trading, but the percentage of those who take advantage is constantly growing. That is, the big players will probably not allow the newcomer to act successfully, and he will have to invest a lot of money on advertising and his promotion. However, there is still an opportunity, because the population, especially not in very large cities, does not rely so much on the fame of the ticket sales network, choosing the kiosk where they are cheaper. And often the price of a ticket is the determining factor when purchasing it, unless, of course, it is the last day before the event. Therefore, by setting a commission lower than that of competitors, you can count on attracting your client.

To work, you need to register as a business entity, and there are no restrictions on the form of entrepreneurship. That is, you can register as a legal entity (preferably a limited liability company) or register as an individual entrepreneur (who remains an individual without a legal entity), and choose the better of these two forms, because they have the opportunity to take advantage of a simplified taxation system. This will allow you to pay 6% (of income) or 15% (of operating profit) to the state, which is significantly lower than the corporate income tax. Today it is mandatory to indicate the code (OKPD 2) 47.91 Retail trade services by mail or via the Internet information and communication network, which will allow you to trade just those very “electronic tickets”, as well as (OKPD 2) 47.78 Other retail trade services in specialized stores.

Some entrepreneurs who were just starting to sell tickets started their business entirely from home, without having an office. But this became possible only with the spread of the Internet; without it, it is necessary to organize sales desks. Today, an entrepreneur faces the task of organizing an entire network of ticket sales throughout the city, because it will not be possible to get by with just one head office, unless the work is carried out in a very small city. Thus, you need to immediately find several points of sale where tickets will subsequently be sold. The task is simplified by the fact that sales points can be very small, representing pavilions, kiosks and stalls measuring 4 m 2. They need to be placed in the most accessible places, buying up space in shopping malls, installing them even at the entrance to large stores, simply placing them on the streets, especially where people walk and relax. But at the same time, it is still desirable to have a head office, where there will be a main batch of tickets distributed to points. In this case, a person can apply for a purchase to the head office, and in case of any complaints, he can contact the manager directly. If we consider the organization of a full-fledged service, then feedback, including complaints from the consumer, must be established. Of course, we need to strive to ensure that such situations do not even arise, but the problem does not always arise through the fault of the entrepreneur. For example, a concert may be cancelled. And if the ticket office independently exchanges tickets or returns money for them, without sending them to the company organizing the event, it can count on customer loyalty and a subsequent increase in popularity.

The cost of the pavilion, in addition to its size, is determined by its equipment. Those located on the street will cost the entrepreneur much more than those that will be located in shops and shopping complexes, if only because they must be insulated. Pavilions can be built by ordering, you can buy a ready-made, used one, or rent it out. The last option can be considered if the budget is very limited and it is possible to rent inexpensive pavilions. Otherwise, it is better to buy them into ownership, because even if unsuccessful, they can be resold, and their mobility allows you not to depend on the location. In the event that you have to work in someone else’s premises, the task is greatly simplified, because you need to sign a lease agreement with the owner of a shopping complex or store, and he himself will allocate space for the pavilion. If the kiosk is located on the street, then you will have to contact the administration for permission to install the pavilion, and here a lot will depend on the situation in the municipality. There may not be any places, bureaucrats may refuse for one reason or another, and you will have to collect a lot of information about your activities. If the city is small, then you can limit yourself to two or three points in other people’s complexes, but even in large cities, entrepreneurs are gradually moving their sales points to warm and equipped premises. This includes comfort for the seller, lower costs for building a pavilion (if successful, the shopping center itself may already have an equipped space), and greater foot traffic. However, rental costs will generally be significantly more expensive than elsewhere.

The cost of constructing a pavilion can vary significantly depending also on the materials used, and starts from 15 thousand rubles per square meter. That is, the amount of starting capital will vary greatly depending on the city and the rental spaces received. In a small city, one office will be enough, in an ordinary city - only a few points for each block, but in megacities you will have to organize a full-fledged network of your own cash desks. At each point of sale you need to buy furniture for the employee, a computer (which must be connected to the Internet) and a cash register. It is also possible to install a special printer that can print the finished ticket. You can decorate the pavilion with advertising, which the organizers will certainly provide. You need to count on about 40-50 thousand more when equipping each cash register. A particular problem may be the provision of the Internet, especially in pavilions on the street. Your office is equipped much more seriously, because several people will work in it at the same time, so everyone needs to equip a workplace no worse than that of a cashier in the pavilion.

Further work may develop in different ways. The first way is direct resale of tickets. In this case, you have to buy large quantities of tickets and then resell them at a price that you set yourself. In essence, this is still the same speculation, only legalized. The main advantage of this method is precisely the ability to pursue the pricing policy that seems most profitable to the entrepreneur, even if this causes prices to become too high. But this method also has its drawbacks. So, not all theaters will agree to such a deal and will not sell a large batch of tickets to one person. The entrepreneur assumes all the risks of selling tickets, and if the public is not interested in the upcoming event, the organizer will only benefit (the hall is empty when it is sold out), but the reseller will only lose money. Fierce competition will not allow prices to be inflated too much, and purchases will only be made just a few days before the event. In general, working according to this scheme is already becoming a thing of the past.

Today, most ticket offices work directly with event organizers. So, a novice entrepreneur should visit all the theaters and conclude agreements for the sale of tickets. Since not all theaters, circuses and similar establishments have an extensive network of ticket offices (and often there is only one - directly in their building), this becomes a way for them to sell even more tickets. In this case, the entrepreneur receives a commission from the sale of the ticket, which is set within certain limits. That is, it will not be possible to artificially inflate prices greatly. But the businessman himself does not buy tickets, becomes an agent, and in the event of an unsuccessful event risks practically nothing. He, of course, loses profit, but he does not have to invest his own money. He also receives all the information about the remaining tickets, can provide his customers with a layout of the hall (or simply the number of free seats) and, thus, provide an already expanded service.

Ready ideas for your business

At this stage, it is already important to have your own well-functioning website, as well as a connection to the database of your partners to quickly receive information. Points of sale equipped with computers immediately show the client the layout of the hall and give him the opportunity to choose a convenient place. As soon as a ticket is bought somewhere, it becomes known to the entrepreneur himself, the organizing partner, and other agents, that is, the likelihood of selling the same ticket is reduced to zero.

It is worth mentioning a much simpler option for organizing your own business. This is a franchise job, which allows you to get information about all partners at once, permission to work with them from the parent company, which will also provide all the established schemes and tell you about the features of doing business. That is, it will provide full support in the endeavor and the opportunity to work under its name, which is known to the mass buyer. The disadvantages of this development path include the need to pay a lump sum fee, make royalty payments, and also equip your sales points in accordance with the requirements of the corporation. However, nowadays you can find inexpensive franchises, and the franchisors themselves do not exaggerate their requirements. To go your own way (which is still possible) or to join an existing company is decided by the entrepreneur himself, depending on the situation in his city.

Sales are also going well via the Internet, when the buyer is given the opportunity to print out the ticket themselves. He buys it via the Internet, after which he prints it on a printer, or he can go to the nearest point indicated by him at a time convenient for him to buy a ticket (although this is already a prepaid reservation). Printed on a printer is called an electronic ticket, but for this, some companies, for security reasons, require the buyer to provide his personal data. This is designed to create a unique ticket that cannot be resold to anyone or counterfeited. And even more so, to fake it and then resell it. Typically, large organizers already have systems for generating electronic tickets, and the entrepreneur can only implement this software into his network.

Working with many partners leads to the need to implement a universal interface and control system, and this will certainly require hiring additional programmers who will support the multi-structural system. A large, growing ticket office is constantly improving the process of selling tickets via the Internet, because today many people travel to events in other cities, and traveling specifically to buy a ticket can be very inconvenient.

Ready ideas for your business

The organizers of concerts of touring artists deserve special mention. Sometimes such organizers are already cooperating partners who, for example, provide a platform free from their own performances. Then they will also transmit information about the event, issue a batch of tickets, and the work will continue according to the same principle. Otherwise, if a concert or show is organized by a third-party or even out-of-town company. Perhaps even on a non-standard site, which is rented only for one time (an example of this is renting a city area, a parking lot for a large hypermarket, a night club). In this case, the entrepreneur enters into an agreement with the organizer for the sale of tickets that cannot be purchased anywhere else (unless the organizer cooperates with several ticket offices at once). Usually, the price of a ticket for such an event gradually increases as you get closer to the event, especially if there is an active purchase of tickets. Thus, the entrepreneur constantly increases his income, because a slight gradual increase in price leads to a final cost significantly higher than the initial one, but this does not stop buyers.

You may have to deal not only with ticket sales, but also with advertising the event. This is discussed individually with each partner, but the organizer usually gives several advertising posters and brochures for each outlet to his partners. The ticket seller himself is interested in a successful advertising campaign, and joint work in this area can increase efficiency significantly. And the buyers themselves, sometimes right at the point itself, are interested in the events that will take place in the near future. Tour organizers may even offer cooperation, one of the conditions of which will be advertising in the city. Of course, all this is reimbursed by the organizer, but it is still worth having an experienced marketer-advertiser on your staff, because this will allow you to engage in almost related business, earning additional income.

Ticket trading is profitable when there are many partners holding a wide variety of events - from children's puppet theater to rock concerts. In addition to them, you should immediately try to contact the organizers of tours, simultaneous shows and any performances. If possible, receive exclusive access to ticket sales. Theater agencies that bring art to the provinces will also be a good distribution channel. These companies are engaged in buying a large batch of tickets in order to organize a tour from a provincial town to a large city where a premiere or a grand event is planned. Here you can negotiate a small discount, because the agency buys a large batch of tickets (but you can’t call them speculators, because they don’t set their commission too high, and are focused on those clients who have already applied).

Calculator for calculating the profitability of this business

How to get to your favorite theaters without exorbitant expenses - 5 simple rules and some details from the theaters themselves and from the audience on how to buy cheap theater tickets.

If the soul demands beauty, and market prices for spiritual food are high, you should look for inexpensive theater tickets and use certain tricks in order not to miss the opportunity to attend a performance.

1. Use the official websites of theaters

Tickets to any theater can now be ordered and purchased on its official website. In addition, keep in mind that by the beginning of the sales period, only about 30% of all tickets are at the theater box office; the remaining tickets have already been taken by distributors - this is more profitable for the theater. Distributors usually inflate the price by about 10-15%. Therefore, it is, of course, more profitable to buy tickets at the theater itself.

2. Plan your trip to the theater in advance

By making a plan for visiting cultural events, and most importantly, thinking about buying a theater ticket two months before the performance, you can buy a ticket much cheaper than if you start looking for it a week or the day before. This rule applies to all theaters without exception. Two months before the date of the performance, it is usually quite possible to buy tickets at the box office or on the theater website.

3. Ask about entrance fees

A number of theaters have so-called entrance tickets: for a small amount you can enter the hall and sit on an empty seat or steps if there are no seats at all.

4. Remember about social discounts

In some Moscow theaters, students, pensioners and the disabled can enter for free or receive a significant discount on tickets. For example, when purchasing tickets for performances on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, students will receive a 50% discount on Theater Et Cetera. Take your student cards with you!

5. Don't forget the little things

When choosing a performance you want to go to, pay attention to which hall it will take place in. As a rule, tickets for the small stage are more expensive than for the main stage (does not apply to the Bolshoi Theater). Also, check if the performance is being performed as part of a festival. In this case, the ticket price may be higher than usual.

Now a little about the features of buying tickets to some Moscow theaters.

Everyone knows that it is impossible to get into the Bolshoi Theater, and if possible, then only for some cosmic money. Keep in mind - this is a myth. In the most famous theater in Russia, tickets are, of course, not the cheapest, but you can always come up with something.

First, the official information: you can purchase a ticket for performances in the area of the Historical and New Stages of the Bolshoi Theater three months in advance. Tickets to the Beethoven Hall used to go on sale two months in advance, but now they also go on sale three months before the concert date.

Pre-sale at the theater box office begins at 10:00 on Saturdays.

Since 2005, full-time students can pay an hour before the performance for a minimum price of 100 rubles (which are then often sold at a slightly higher price to ticket speculators standing right there). This promotion applies to the New and Historical Stages (the promotion also applies to the sale of tickets).

Now it’s reality: you don’t need to come on Saturdays either at 10 am, or at 7, or at 12 pm. Or rather, you can try, but you are unlikely to buy a ticket, but you will gain the not-so-pleasant experience of standing in line (which many have already forgotten about), and in addition, you will get an idea of the humiliating superiority of ticket scalpers over other people. Here's what a real viewer thinks:

“On Saturdays, it’s quite possible to arrive as early as possible, at 5-6 o’clock, to get into the first hundred, and you can get inexpensive tickets. Yes, along with the tickets you will receive a lot of negativity, and curse words, and these stupid resellers, you will have to stand in line for up to 8 hours, then they hand out wristbands with a number and you can go for a walk until 10.

Then the sale actually begins, you can buy two tickets for the opera and two for the ballet in one hand. It doesn't matter which ones. 4 operas or 4 ballets will not work, even if you die. But you can agree with your neighbor to take turns, if you want ballet and he wants opera, then switch.

In general, on Saturdays the Soviet Union reigns there in its worst incarnation. But you can save a lot on tickets.”

If this kind of adventure doesn’t scare you, go ahead.

And if your goal is to gain not a life experience, but an aesthetic experience, that is, going to a performance, we recommend using the official website of the Bolshoi Theater, where you can attend most performances at the theater’s official prices. Of course, there will be no tickets for some performances.

But we recommend not to despair and visit the site regularly. It often happens that today there are no tickets on the website, but tomorrow there are already tickets. True, in this case it will not be possible to plan - here, rather, the situation is reminiscent of a last-minute trip: if you come across a good option, you will have to pack up and go.

Please note that tickets for the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theater are cheaper than for the Historical Stage. Sometimes you can get to Novaya for 1,500 rubles or 1,000. Despite the fact that there are often excellent performances there: for example, the ballet “Bright Stream” or the opera “La Bohème.”

Don’t refuse concerts in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theater (tickets are almost always freely sold at the box office and on the theater’s website, entrance to the hall is through the columns of the Bolshoi Theater). Tickets for concerts of soloists of the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra never cost more than 500 rubles, but each of these concerts is a brilliant event. The best of them are always additionally announced on the ChamberMusic.Ru website.

When purchasing tickets, do not forget to study the hall layouts. In the Beethoven Hall, if possible, do not take tickets on the very sides. Although this mainly concerns the New and Historical scenes.

If tickets are on the sides of the halls, try to take the first row. Otherwise it will be difficult to see anything. On the other hand, on the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theater, never be afraid of tickets to the mezzanine in boxes 12 to 15 on the left and right sides. They are called “place 7” and “place 8”, designated as “inconvenient places” and if they go on sale, then at lower prices. Don't believe it. These are great seats - you'll sit on comfortable high bar-style stools and have a great view of the stage.

Some lovingly call him “Stasik,” which causes incredible indignation among a number of servants of this theater. However, the “middle name” of this theater is widely used. Tickets to this theater are much cheaper than to the Bolshoi, and many opera and ballet lovers love it even more for its “homey” atmosphere.

However, in MAMT there is also a risk of running into an impolite security guard - but in this case it is enough to call the shift supervisor: in this theater they monitor both the behavior of the security guards in particular and the general atmosphere into which the viewer finds himself when he opens the theater door.

Tickets can also be purchased on the website or at the box office, the prices, as we have already said, are divine, and the visibility in the hall is excellent from any seat. The exception is lodges 1 and 14. There the stage is almost invisible because of the directors' boxes. In boxes 2 and 13 there is, so to speak, “limited visibility.”

Moscow Theater “New Opera”

The theater was founded by the outstanding Soviet conductor Yevgeny Kolobov, is very conveniently and cozyly located on Petrovka Street and can to some extent bear the title of “a talent forge for the Bolshoi Theater”: some of the theater’s soloists recently moved to the Bolshoi, and the wonderful baritone Vasily Ladyuk, Although he remains faithful to the New Opera, he nevertheless regularly appears on the Bolshoi stage.

Tickets are relatively inexpensive, and visibility in the hall is also good from any seat.

In 1972, the long-time chief director of the Bolshoi Theater, Boris Pokrovsky, was asked to reform a small opera group touring Russia. This is how the Moscow Chamber Musical Theater arose.

At one time, the Chamber Musical Theater worked with Rodion Shchedrin, Dmitry Shostakovich, Tikhon Khrennikov, and Gennady Rozhdestvensky. From the very first days it was decided that this place would become a laboratory for modern opera, but at the same time it would introduce the viewer to opera rarities.

Here for the first time the works of modern composers who have already become classics were performed: “The Overcoat”, “The Stroller”, “The Wedding”, “The Brothers Karamazov” by Kholminov, “Life with an Idiot” by Schnittke, “Count Cagliostro” by Tariverdiev, “Poor Liza” by Desyatnikova, “The Poor people" by Sedelnikov, and "The Nose" by Shostakovich has become the hallmark of the theater. Among the rarities performed on the stage of the Chamber Musical Theater are “The Pharmacist” by Haydn, “The Water Play” by Britten, “The Rake’s Progress” by Stravinsky, “Don Juan, or the Punished Libertine” and “The Theater Director” by Mozart.

This theater is very good in some respects. In any case, there are often performances there that are not shown anywhere else. But, to be honest, we have a suspicion that tickets for it are not very difficult to get. But you can get great pleasure from a performance in this theater.

Since 2018, the theater has lost its independence and turned into the Chamber Stage named after. Pokrovsky Bolshoi Theater of Russia. Accordingly, you should look for tickets to it in the same place where tickets to the Bolshoi Theater are sold.

The world's first professional theater of opera, ballet and symphonic music for children. It bears the name of its founder - the world's first woman - opera director, outstanding cultural figure Natalia Ilyinichna Sats.

If you want to introduce your child to the world of music, the Sats Theater may be a good place to start, since the repertoire of other Moscow theaters does not include many children's performances, and it also seems that modern directors are slowly forgetting how to stage for children.

And here, for example, you can watch the stunning children's ballet “Cipollino” to the music of K. Khachaturian, directed by G. Mayorov, which used to be shown at the Bolshoi Theater, but is no longer shown.

Moscow musical theater "Helikon-Opera"

“Helikon-Opera” boasts an outstanding chief conductor - Vladimir Ponkin, as well as an artistic director - director Dmitry Bertman, who knows how to turn any of his productions, if not into a provocation, then, in any case, into something very unexpected.

For a long time, the Helikon Theater was based on Bolshoi Arbat, but already in November Moscow will experience a sensation - after a long and complex reconstruction.

At the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, ticket prices vary from 350 to 5,000 rubles. You can purchase tickets in advance at better prices. It is convenient to enjoy the performance from absolutely any row - visibility is sufficient everywhere.

In Lenkom you can also buy a ticket on the website. Here you can see the location of the seats in the hall and choose an affordable price. However, if you purchase the cheapest tickets on the dress circle for 250 rubles, you risk not seeing anything. Therefore, save wisely - the best option is 400-500 rubles per ticket.

Oleg Tabakov Theater

In a cozy “snuffbox” you can watch your favorite actors by purchasing a ticket on the website. The minimum price for a balcony is 600 rubles. But if you carefully follow the news on the theater’s website, you can easily find a place “in the sun” at a lower cost.

The cheapest tickets at Sovremennik can be purchased for 200 rubles, choosing seats in the last row on the balcony. The main thing is to come to your senses in advance and take care of this - 2-3 weeks in advance. It is almost impossible to buy a ticket on the day of the performance.

Pre-sale of tickets on the workshop website begins two months before the premiere. The lowest price is 300 rubles. By filling out the form on the website, you can “get in line” for the desired ticket. In the fields you need to enter the amount you are expecting, and you will only have to wait for the administrator to call.

Tickets to RAMT can be purchased at affordable prices, starting from 300 rubles. Please note that tickets for productions of the Little Stage and the Black Room are sold only at the box office located on Theater Square. But it’s better not to wait until the day of the premiere, as tickets sell out quite quickly. Benefits in the theater are also provided in accordance with the law, but you need to agree in advance by phone.

To the legendary theater. You can get to Vakhtangov by paying only 250 rubles. You can monitor the availability of opportunities to purchase cheap tickets on the official website. Tickets go on sale approximately 2-4 weeks in advance.

Moscow Art Theater named after. Gorky

The minimum price for tickets to this theater is 150 rubles. These are seats on the balcony in 3-5 rows. Tickets are always available, the hall is usually not full, so there are enough seats for everyone.

Et Cetera Theater

To the delight of all students at the theater, there is a 50% discount on all productions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. To save twice as much, it is advisable to purchase and reserve seats in advance. Without special offers, tickets can be purchased for a minimum of 500 rubles.

Distributors of theater tickets may be exempt from the obligation to use cash registers when selling. The corresponding bill has been submitted to the State Duma and is available to the Parliamentary Gazette.

The author of the initiative was a group of deputies led by the Chairman of the Committee on Culture Elena Yampolskaya. Changes are proposed to be made to the Law “On the use of cash register equipment when making payments in the Russian Federation.”

The document notes that from July 1, 2019, organizations and individual entrepreneurs performing work and providing services to the public are required to use cash register equipment. This procedure may complicate the work of state and municipal theaters, as well as worsen their economic condition.

Lawmakers point out that theaters cannot fill an entire auditorium by selling tickets only at the box office or online. To attract viewers, they use distributors - individuals who sell tickets in organizations, educational institutions, and cultural institutions.

However, it will be difficult to provide cash registers to all ticket distributors, since they require good quality mobile communications to operate. The authors of the initiative propose to exempt distributors of theater tickets from the obligation to carry such equipment.

At the same time, it is noted that this provision does not apply to cases of sale of the specified entrance tickets and subscriptions using the Internet and communication networks.

According to legislators, the adoption of the bill will prevent the deterioration of the economic condition of state and municipal theaters, and will also allow them to fulfill the state task for such an indicator as the “number of spectators.”
