Designed for longitudinal, transverse sawing and sawing at an angle of boards, bars, furniture boards and other lumber. It is applied in joiner's and construction and furniture productions.

The machine bed has a box-shaped form, inside of which there is a dust collector casing, which simultaneously serves to collect sawdust and connect to an external suction unit through a pipe. A guide for the carriage is attached to the frame with the help of brackets. Electrical equipment is mounted in the niche of the bed. The saw is mounted on the shaft of an electric motor mounted on a swinging motorized plate, the axis of which is locked in the frame. Behind the saw, on the bracket of the sub-engine plate, a riving knife is fixed, designed to protect the saw from clamping in the cut and prevent the ejection of lumber. A guard mounted on the machine table covers the top of the saw and keeps the workpiece from being ejected during the sawing process.

The universal circular saw C-6 with manual feed is designed for longitudinal and transverse sawing of lumber up to 400 mm wide and up to 130 mm thick (Fig. 67, a). The machine has a saw spindle 1, table 2, on which

the workpiece is fed manually, a movable support square 3 for sawing across or at an angle, moved along a groove made in the table, parallel to the saw blade, and a guide ruler 5. The saw is set to the desired height by turning the handwheel 6. A saw blade guard is installed on the table, ensuring safe operation . For longitudinal sawing, universal machines should be equipped with automatic feeders that provide mechanization of the supply of workpieces (Fig. 67, c).

The universal circular saw machine model Ts6-2 is designed for longitudinal and transverse sawing of boards, beams, wood-based panels and sheet materials (chipboard, fiberboard, plywood, paper-laminated plastic, etc.).

The machine can perform the following technological operations:

  • longitudinal cutting of edged materials into blanks of a certain cross section
  • longitudinal cutting of squared blanks into edged boards and container boards

Ts6-2 The device and principle of operation of the circular saw universal machine

General form the machine with the designation of the controls is shown in Figure 1. The machine has two control buttons: "Start" and "Stop" located on the fence bracket.

Description of the main components of the machine:

- bed represents the rigid welded box-shaped design covered by a flat table. Inside the bed with a suspension to it, a caliper with a drive and a mechanism for adjusting the height of the saw blade above the machine table are placed.

- caliper It is a rigid oscillating frame, in front of which there is a spindle, in the back - a hinged suspension is attached to the machine frame. In the lower part of the frame, a hinge is provided for attaching the levers for lifting - lowering the caliper and holes for the movable sub-engine plate of the machine drive. An electric motor is mounted on a movable plate. The lifting and lowering levers in the lower part are hinged to the machine frame, and a nut is installed in the middle of the levers.

- fencing serves to protect the saw blade during machine operation and prevent the workpiece from flying out onto the operator. It is an overturned welded box above the saw blade, to the side walls of which claw stops are suspended. The fence is suspended on a tubular bracket to the machine table. The guard covers the protruding part of the saw blade and the riving knife.

- ruler guide serves to guide the material during longitudinal sawing. It is a movable beam that moves along the machine table parallel to the plane of the saw blade. The ruler is fixed on a movable slider moving along a cylindrical rod fixed under the front edge of the table. In the selected place, the ruler is fixed with a clamp.

- Carriage serves to move and guide lumber, squared and panel blanks with accurate transverse and at an angle to the sawing. It is a console, movable table, installed in the same plane with the main table of the machine.

Moves manually on roller bearings along cylindrical guide rods installed under the left side edge of the table parallel to the saw blade.

The rollers of the carriage are mounted on eccentric axles, which allows you to adjust the position of the carriage in height and inclination. At the rear edge of the carriage there is a swivel base ruler, against which the material to be cut is pressed during sawing. The ruler has an emphasis for sawing off a batch of blanks “to size”.

The position of the stop is fixed with a screw clamp.

The screw is designed to adjust the position of the caliper in height, i.e. to adjust the height of the saw above the machine table. With regard to the saw, this is done to ensure optimal conditions cutting and tool change, which is performed at the lower position of the spindle.

The screw engages with the caliper arm nut. By turning the screw using the handwheel located on the rear wall of the machine, the levers are rotated and, accordingly, the caliper (tool) is raised or lowered.

The work of the machine Ts6-2

By turning on the input switch on the side wall of the electrical cabinet, power is supplied to the power circuits and control circuits, and the signal lamp should light up. Depending on the intended type of work, the tool and guides must be installed in advance, the stops and the guide ruler must be adjusted. When performing ripping operations, the guide fence must be fitted with appropriate wooden pads. If transverse cutting or cutting of sheet materials is to be carried out, the riving knife must be removed. For longitudinal cutting of short workpieces, it is necessary to prepare a pusher. By actuating the “Start” button, the machine drive is switched on and the material prepared for processing is manually fed to the rotating tool. If the material is large, then on the other side of the machine it must be supported by a second machine operator.

The order of work on the machine

Preparation for the initial start-up and initial start-up of the machine:

  • ground the machine by connecting to the general power supply system
  • connect the machine to the mains, checking the compliance of the mains voltage with the electrical equipment of the machine
  • following the instructions in the section "Electrical equipment", check the correct direction of rotation of the electric motor
  • Familiarize yourself with the purpose of the handles and control buttons
  • check the ease of rotation of the spindle by hand
  • check the ease of adjustment movements
  • check the reliability of the action of the anti-blowout claws of the fence, the ease of lowering them into a vertical position under the action of their own weight
  • check the alignment of the saw blade and riving knife
  • manually check that the tool is correctly fixed on the machine spindle

For the initial start-up of the machine, it is necessary:

  • turn on the input switch located on the side wall of the electrical cabinet, while the white signal lamp should light up
  • turn on the spindle drive with the "Start" button
  • make sure that there are no unacceptable noises and excessive runout of the tool when the machine is idling
  • turn off the machine by acting on the red mushroom button “Stop”, while the rotation of the saw should stop in no more than 6 seconds

ATTENTION: The machine is equipped with dynamic braking of the spindle drive. Frequent starts and stops lead to overheating of the motor windings. Do not abuse the frequent shutdown of the machine. Permissible braking frequency of the machine is no more than once every 10 minutes and no more than 6 cycles per hour.

After making sure that the machine is operating normally at idle, they begin to set it up for work.

Setting up the machine to perform a specific technological operation

The following adjustment operations are performed on the machine:

  • setting the height of the saw blade above the machine table is performed to ensure optimal cutting conditions when sawing (the saw blade should protrude 10-20 mm above the top surface of the workpiece). The adjustment is made by turning the handwheel on the back of the machine. Turning clockwise raises the tool, counterclockwise lowers it.
  • adjusting the width of the cut material during longitudinal processing or cutting “to size” is carried out by moving the side guide ruler relative to the saw blade. To do this, loosen the clamping screws of the slider and move it along the cylindrical rod to set it to the desired position of the ruler. The ruler slider is fixed.
  • adjustment of the cutting angle of lumber, panel parts is made to obtain blanks cut "on the mustache" or corner panel parts. When based on the carriage, the adjustment is made by turning and fixing the rotary guide ruler along the linear scale, on which the main angles are marked. Cutting at an angle can be done according to the markup.

ATTENTION: When cutting lumber longitudinally, using a side guide ruler for basing the material, an overlay must be fixed on the ruler (see Fig. 7);

Work on the machine Ts6-2

Work on the machine includes the following operations: feeding blanks to the machine and receiving processed blanks from the machine.

All types of longitudinal cutting must be performed by two machine operators: one feeds, and the other receives the received workpieces and, if necessary, returns the left undercut part to the machine operator for re-processing.

ATTENTION: Short workpieces with a length of less than 600 mm are necessarily processed using a pusher (see Fig. 8a).

Cross cutting of workpieces up to 12 kg and up to 1500 mm long can be performed by one machine operator. Large workpieces are processed with an assistant. Short cuts obtained when trimming “in size” along the back stop, and short parts are removed from the machine table using a pusher (Fig. 8b)

When cutting lumber longitudinally, a 4.5 mm thick riving knife must be installed behind the saw blade, symmetrically with respect to the width of the cut. In case of violation of the symmetry of the mutual position of the saw and the knife, it must be adjusted using nuts.

ATTENTION: Cross cutting with riving knife is not allowed!

Tool change

The tool is changed at the lower position of the caliper through the front door at the extreme right (initial) position of the carriage. Two keys are required to change tools.

Electrical equipment of the machine Ts6-2 (K). General information

The electrical equipment of the Ts6-2 (K) machine is presented in the electrical circuit diagram (Fig. 3), the connection diagram (Fig. 4). The list of elements for the circuit (Fig. 3) is given in Table 5.

The electrical equipment of the machine is designed to be connected to a three-phase alternating current network with a voltage of 380 V, a frequency of 50 Hz and ensures the possibility of its operation in fire hazardous zones of class P II in accordance with the classification of the "Electrical Installation Rules" PUE.

Protection of power circuits from short-circuit currents, electric motor M from long-term overloads is carried out by automatic switch QF1, control and signaling circuits - by fuse FU1 ... FU4, from long-term overloads of the electric motor - by thermal release of automatic switch QF1.

The operation of the machine is controlled from the buttons SB1 and SB2, located on the fence bracket. The electrical control equipment is located in the electrical cabinet located on the side wall of the machine.

The scheme provides for electrodynamic braking of the motor M after it is turned off. The engine must be braked in no more than 6 seconds. Permissible braking frequency of the machine is no more than once every 10 minutes and no more than 6 cycles per hour.

Putting the machine into operation

Before starting the machine, it is necessary to check the quality of the installation and the reliability of the ground circuits by visual inspection. Turn on the input switch SA, while the HL lamp lights up, signaling the supply of voltage to the machine circuit.

By pressing the button SB2 (5-6) turn on the rotation of the electric motor M. Stop with braking occurs by pressing the button SB1 (4-5).

Machine locks Ts6-2(K)

Wiring diagram machine provides the following locks:

  • it is impossible to turn on the rotation of the electric motor M with the door of the chip collector open, this is achieved by introducing the closing contact of the limit switch SQ (6-7) into the motor control circuit M
  • it is impossible to turn on the electric motor M during electrodynamic braking, this is achieved by introducing a break contact of the starter KM2 (8-7) into the switching circuit of the electric motor
  • zero protection is carried out by auxiliary contacts of the KM1 magnetic starter (5-6)

Safety requirements

During installation, the machine must be properly grounded in accordance with current rules and regulations. To do this, the terminal clamp of the external protective circuit must be connected to the workshop earth circuit. In addition, a ground bolt is provided on the machine bed.

During the operation of the machine, it is necessary to periodically check the condition of the electrical equipment, paying special attention to the condition of the contacts, as well as systematically carry out technical inspections and preventive repairs of electric motors.

The frequency of inspections is determined depending on working conditions but at least once every two months. At the same time, the electric motor is cleaned of contaminants, the reliability of grounding and connections is checked.

The frequency of preventive maintenance is set at least once a year. During preventive repairs, disassembly and internal cleaning of the electric motor, assessment of the condition of the bearings are carried out. The bearings are lubricated for the entire period of operation of the bearings and are designed for at least 12,000 hours of operation.

ATTENTION: When repairing electrical equipment, the SA input switch must be turned off.
